  1. When and where do the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship take place?

    The games of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships take place from 5th - 21st May 2017 in Cologne and Paris. In Cologne, 34 games (including the final weekend) will be held on 15 match days; in Paris, 30 games will be held on 13 match days.

  2. Which team will play in which group?

    Group A in Cologne includes 2016’s host and bronze medalist Russia, which is ranked second in the 2016 IIHF Men’s World Ranking, Team USA, Sweden, Slovakia, Germany, Latvia, Denmark and Italy.

    Defending champion Canada will start its campaign in Group B in Paris where there are seeded together with this year’s other finalist Finland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Belarus, Norway, France and Slovenia.

  4. What do the tickets cost? What price levels are available?

    Cologne: Tickets at five different price levels are available for games in the LANXESS arena. In the standing-room section, individual tickets are available from EUR 19 and ticket packages from EUR 267. You can find an accurate overview of the prices here.


    Paris: Tickets at four different price levels are available for games in the ACCORHOTELS ARENA. Individual tickets are available from EUR 9 and ticket packages from EUR 168. You can find an accurate overview of the prices here.

  5. How many tickets can I buy?

    You can buy a maximum of 10 tickets per game or ticket package per order through the official 2017 IIHF World Championship ticket shop.   6. Are there price reductions for specific groups of people?

    Tickets for Cologne: Yes, in addition to the general price reduction for purchasing packages, the following groups of people also receive an additional reduction:

    Level 1 (15%): School children, students, pensioners, participants in FWD and FSJ, people with a degree of disability >= 50, the unemployed.

    Level 2 (30%): Children aged between 5-12 years.

    Please be aware that proof of entitlement must be presented unasked at the admission inspection. Discounts cannot be combined!

    Tickets for Paris: There are no further reduction levels in addition to the general price advantage of buying a package.

  7. Are there price reductions for children?

    Essentially, children need their own ticket once they have completed their fifth year.

    Germany: Yes, there are two reduction levels for children and young people. Level 1 applies to children aged 5-12 years and level 2 for all school children older than 12.

    France: No, there are no further reductions for children.

  8. Are tickets available for wheelchair users?

    Yes, in both arenas there is a limited number of tickets available for wheelchair users and their companions. These tickets can only be booked on the official ticket hotline.   9. Are there tickets for less-able people?

    Tickets for less-able people requiring a companion are available for every game in the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships. In each arena, two types of tickets are available: Tickets for wheelchair users and tickets for people who require easily accessible seats. Such accessible seats are available in both the arena and in the hospitality sections.

    Evidence of the disability of the person affected must be presented for each accessible ticket requested.

  10. What are accessible seats?

    Tickets for accessible seats are intended for less-able people who do not use a wheelchair but nevertheless require easily accessible seats located near accessible restaurant, sanitary and first-aid facilities. They are suitable for people with restricted mobility who ideally have to reach their seat without using steps, people who have a guide dog or companion dog, and for other less-able people who prefer to sit in sections reserved for less-able people.

  11. Are tickets available for companions?

    On presentation of evidence of a disability, upon request an additional, free ticket for a companion will be provided along with each accessible ticket (for wheelchair-user seats or accessible seats).

  12. What type of evidence of a disability is required for my application?

    People with restricted mobility applying for a wheelchair-user ticket or a ticket for accessible seats with a companion must enclose evidence of their disability that is valid in their country of residence along with their application.

  13. Is there a minimum age for children present at a game?

    There is no minimum age for children present at a game. However, please be aware that access is only granted to the arena for persons that can present a valid ticket. On completing their fourth (4th) year of age, your child must also be in possession of a ticket.

    Furthermore, please be aware that noise in the arena may reach a volume that cannot be recommended for small children.

  14. Can my child sit on my lap?

    Children up to the age of 4 years can sit on a parent's lap but this must not obstruct the view of other spectators. On completing their fifth (5th) year of age, children must also be in possession of their own ticket.

  15. Can I select my seat?

    Yes, using seating-chart booking, you can select your required seat directly in the seating chart.

    Please note: Specific seats cannot be booked when using the "Team Ticket Germany" and the "Team Ticket France". Seats are allocated after publication of the fixture list on a first come, first served basis. This means that the sooner you purchase your Team Tickets, the earlier the seats are allocated during the allocation phase in summer 2016.

    The following payment methods can be used to pay for the tickets:


    Tickets for Cologne: Payment is possible by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), giropay, direct debit (SEPA direct debit) or purchase on account. The purchase amount is due directly when the purchase is made.


    Tickets for Paris: Payment is possible by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). The purchase amount is due directly when the purchase is made.

  19. Which currency will be used for paying for the tickets?

    Tickets for the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship can only be purchased in EUROs

  20. Can I pay for my tickets in instalments?

    No, instalment payments are not possible.

  21. When will the tickets be sent?

    After publication of the official game schedule, tickets will probably be sent out for the first time from August 2016. We will promptly announce the dispatch of the tickets so that you have the opportunity to make any changes to your customer account or delivery address. From this time onwards, tickets will be dispatched regularly once payment is received.

  22. Will my tickets be replaced if they get stolen?

    Yes. On presentation of a police report, it is possible to have the tickets reissued.

  25. Is it possible to buy tickets for every game of a specific team?

    Yes, it's possible to buy "Team Tickets". With a Team Ticket, you secure the same seat for all preliminary-round games of the respective team. The available contingent of "Team Tickets" is limited to a maximum of 500 per country.

  26. Can I buy tickets at the arena on the match day?

    Yes, depending on availability, it may be possible to buy tickets at the box office of the arena. However, there is no guarantee that you will also obtain your required seats (price level and section).

  27. Can I buy tickets for a large group (more than 10 people)?

    Yes, you can also buy tickets for groups of more than 10 people for the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. To do this, please use the Group Order Form in this ticket portal. If you would like individual advice, please use the call-back request on the order form.

  28. Will my tickets be replaced if they get damaged?

    Damaged tickets can be replaced if there was no gross negligence on the part of the ticket holder.

  29. Which languages are available on the ticket portal?

    You can use the 2017 IIHF World Championship Ticket Portal in English, German and French.

  30. In which languages will the signposting in the arena will be?

    Essentially, signposting will be in the language of the respective country. For the 2017 IIHF World Championship, however, this will be supplemented with signposting in English.

  31. Is there a medical service in the arenas? Is this free?

    LANXESS arena: There is a "mini hospital" in the LANXESS arena, in which first-aiders are able to provide immediate assistance.

    ACCORHOTELS ARENA: There is a "mini hospital" in the Paris Arena, in which first-aiders are able to provide immediate assistance.

  32. Can I bring my pet into the stadium?

    No, pets cannot be brought into the stadium. The only exceptions are guide dogs required for spectators. However, these must be expressly registered when applying for admission tickets.

  33. Can I film/take photographs in the arena, or do I need approval for this?

    It is possible to take photos and videos for private use only. However, the use of additional aids such as tripods and selfie sticks is forbidden.

  34. Do I need a visa to enter Germany and/or France?

    Contact your local authorities to clarify whether you need a visa to enter Germany or France. Please be aware that a ticket for the 2017 IIHF World Championship does not constitute an adequate document for entering Germany or France.
